Summer 2008 M-News
What a great year it’s been - we have now graduated eight girls since we opened with another two preparing to graduate in February. It is amazing to see the change in the lives of these young women – thanks again for your support.

news_summer_walk Walk ’08
Mercy Ministries Walk ’08 was a great success! Walks were held in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, New Plymouth, Nelson, Christchurch and Wellington – a special thanks to all who helped organise this event, as well as everyone who participated. We have raised nearly $40,000 and the sponsor money is still coming in!

If you haven’t returned your sponsor book or banked your money into our account please do so as soon as possible.

Congratulations to Nadine Cocker who won the iPod – everyone who raised over $200 and had it banked by 2 Dec was in the draw to win. Thanks again for your support! We so appreciate everyone who really got involved.

news_summer_kathryn Meet... Kathryn Heslop: Intake and Transitional Care Coordinator
Hi! My name is Kathryn Heslop. I am 24 years old and have been married for three years to Scott. We live in Torbay and go to Long Bay Baptist Church. We enjoy having fun with our friends, playing sports and music. I have a passion for seeing people set free in order to live a life for God, desiring Him wholeheartedly. I have completed a Bachelor of Social Work through Massey University and have been working at Mercy Ministries for a year and a half.

My role includes coordinating Intake (our application process) and Transitional Care (post-graduation). I have been privileged to have the opportunity to establish our Intake department in New Zealand this year. With Aftercare, we have eight amazing graduates. It has been such a privilege to be able to work alongside them in their journeys and see God work in their lives.
