Winter 2009 M-News Autumn 2009 M-News Summer 2008 M-News Spring 2008 M-News Winter 2008 M-News ---- M-News, Autumn 2009 We have been open for just over 18 months, with ten graduates and now a full house of eight girls. It has been an amazing season, seeing how these young women’s lives have truly been transformed. We celebrate with the girls as they make significant changes in their lives. A Huge Thank You We received an incredible phone call between Christmas and New Year from a couple in the Waikato who had set up a trust a number of years ago for a girls’ home and were now looking to pass the proceeds from the sale of this home to another worthy cause. We are so blessed that Landmark Trust gifted $200,000 to Mercy Ministries, and count it a true privilege that they chose to pass the legacy they had established in helping young women to us. We will be reducing our mortgage with these funds as well as using it to help with regular expenses of running the home. I have seen my value reflected in the way the staff treat me, in the beauty of the home itself, and in my growing relationship with God. Mercy has shown me what my own efforts, my family, the public health system and life itself hadn't - that I am loved and valued." As from 1st April last year you are now able to claim the tax back from all donations made to approved New Zealand charities to the value of the tax you pay. If you would like to make a donation before the end of this financial year (and take advantage of the tax rebate) you can do so now by donating online here. Tax receipts for all regular monthly payments will be sent out in April. Thanks to each of you who are partnering with us – we so appreciate you continuing support.
