Fundraising for a New Zealand home began in 2003. A property was purchased in Auckland in 2006 and the first intake of young women came into the programme in August 2007. We currently have eight young women in residence.
Staff include: Kerry Petrie, Executive Director and Hannah Frost, Programme Manager; who are supported by a Programme Assistant, Household Manager, Counsellors, and night and weekend support staff. A qualified dietician is contracted to Mercy Ministries part–time. Residents access external specialist medical services as required. An Intake and Transitional Care Co-ordinator assists applicants to the programme and graduates of the home.
Kerry Petrie – Executive Director Kerry has a background in business and financial management having worked as a CFO for 8 years. She has been involved with Mercy Ministries in New Zealand since 2002, and in 2006 accepted the offer to lead the process of establishing the first residential programme in Auckland.
Mercy Ministries New Zealand is overseen by a local Board of Trustees, comprised of business professionals from both corporate and non–profit sectors.
